Bramling Produce Bench

Thank you so much for supporting the produce table outside the Haywain. Since we stocked the table on April 9 a magnificent £1,089 has been raised, all of which will be donated to the Pilgrims Hospices.

We have tried to keep the bench restocked with different plants as they become ready, but donation of produce are always welcome – plants, seedlings, vegetables, fruit etc. Please label with identification, growing instructions (if any) and a suggested price, and leave on the table.

Haywain Hospices Quiz

Despite a few hiccups, the Quiz put out on April 17 was a huge success and £1,344 has been raised so far on the Just Giving page. We are going to broadcast a second quiz tomorrow evening (Monday May 4) at 7.30 pm. The link is as before:

and you are invited to take part (The first quiz is also still available). Given the huge amount raised so far, we are not appealing for substantial donations again. Entrance to the quiz is free, but if going to quizzes is something you do, and you would normally pay £1 or £2 pounds to take part then please feel free to donate this sum on the Just Giving Page:

You receive a telephone call.
An automated voice claims to be from the Government coronavirus helpline.
You are told the Government wants residents to wear a face mask.
To purchase face masks you are told to press button 1.

What to do:

Do not press 1 – this is a scam.
The Government has not asked the public to wear masks, at this time.

Seniors Helping Seniors

Seniors Helping Seniors has been able to maintain services thought out this extraordinary period. Sadly lots of care companies working more traditionally have not been able to.
I wanted you to know that we have local experienced carers covering Ickham to help with elderly care in peoples’ homes.

Each carer has been briefed and is practising all the government’s Covid guidelines and our own best practises.

Any of the essential services we provide are invoiced in arrears at the end of the month in the usual way. The hourly fee £24.60 includes VAT and paying above the Living Wage to our amazing carers.
This information may also be useful for people seeking work/to use their care experience to help others during the crisis.

More info here or call Sally on 07802 229050 with any questions.
